Nail Spring Ranch

Located 45 minutes away from Klamath Falls, the Nail Spring Ranch in Bonanza, Oregon is a shooting destination that is truly on another level.

Check it out here: Nail Spring Ranch

Settled into the high desert of eastern Oregon on over 2,000 acres, the Nail Spring Ranch offers a wide array of shooting opportunities, from pistol and carbine ranges, to challenging long ranges with even more variety of field shooting scenarios.

This is our first season of offering open enrollment classes at Nail Spring, and I’m super pumped! Our last experiences there in the summer of 2023 were nothing short of awesome and we’re excited to offer this awesome opportunity to our students now, and into the future.

As an immersion experience, we’ll all be staying at the ranch together, as a class. With that, there’ll be opportunities to participate in group fitness sessions, side-bar conversations and classes after-hours. This is an experience about fellowship and camaraderie to develop both your shooting skills, as well as your own headspace.

Insane Value

This is an all-inclusive immersion experience - we won’t be offering off-site lodging options. You’re either all-in on this one, or it’s just not your jam.

What’s included in the cost of this experience can’t be matched anywhere else. Not only are you going to shoot at a world-class training facility, you’ll be staying in 4-Star accommodations in a brand-new guest lodge. You’ll be eating home-cooked meals for breakfast and dinner - all real, whole foods with huge portions. For lunch, you’re gonna be brown-baggin it, but it’s one boujie brown bag! At the end of the day, enjoy an open-bar of libations (if that’s your style) while you relax in the common area and shoot a couple games of pool.

The ranch boasts a fully-appropriated gym, a classroom with AV equipment, and DoD approved firearm and ammunition storage.

And, if you’ve got the means to use it - Nail Spring has a 2200’ long grass runway.

The Ranges

The ranges that Nail Spring Ranch offers are diverse and challenging. There’s no shortage of wind to be had there, either.

  1. 0-300 yard Pistol/Carbine/Precision With plenty of steel, you’ll be challenged with any weapon you choose and the conex port houses offer a variety of shooting problems to solve.
  2. 800 Yard Known Distance Range - With a two-story multi-bay shooting house to keep you protected from the elements, fully appropriated with power for A/V equipment.
  3. 1600 yard Unknown Distance Range - With a two-story multi-bay shooting house to keep you protected from the elements, fully appropriated with power for A/V equipment.
  4. Field-Shooting Courses - Multiple Hike n Shoot field shooting ranges to simulate hunting scenarios.
  5. Intermediate Range Angle Fire - Climb 500’ up to the knob to shoot some angles from 300-1200 yards.

The field-shooting out at Nail Spring Ranch is fantastic - plenty of open spaces and uneven terrain make for challenging shooting positions, deceptive visual problems, and tricky winds.

Every hit you get at Nail Spring is a hit you earned.

Come have a Modern Day Sniper Experience at the Nail Spring Ranch.

How to Get There

Driving - If you’re driving in from wherever, you’ll receive the address to the ranch prior to the class. For general travel planning - Bonanza, OR is the closest town.

Flying Commercial - Medford, OR is the closest airport. If you’re planning on flying in we recommend flying into Medford. We’ll organize a shuttle pick-up and drop-off for you at the airport. Other airport options are Reno, NV - however it’s 4 hours away and we’ll require you to provide your own transportation to/from the ranch.

Flying Private - If you’re a pilot and an airplane owner, you can land right in front of the lodge. If you’d like to fly in, let us know and we’ll provide you with the coordinates of the strip.

Nail Spring is an experience you’re not going to want to miss…

About this class

The journey begins here at the Introduction to Long Range Shooting class. Do you have an interest in getting into long range shooting as an enthusiast or a hunter? Look no further as there’s simply not another more comprehensive class out there that focuses on developing a solid foundation of skills that will set you up for success on your journey of becoming a modern day rifleman.

There are A LOT of Long Range Shooting schools out there now touting 2-day packages and 3-day packages that claim they can get you to a point of competency with a precision rifle. Having had a scoped rifle in my hands for over 30 years now, and administering instruction to people for the past couple decades, I can state, with certainty, that a 2-day package simply won’t get you to a point where you can competently and successfully accomplish the tasks associated with hitting targets at long range in a consistent manner. It’s just not enough time to really solidify the concepts, and the processes. When you leave that class, you won’t be where you need to be to go to the range by yourself and be successful. A 3-day might get you there, but I’d bet that even after 3 days you’re still going to feel as if you’re just barely touching competency.

The Introduction to Long Range Shooting class starts at the ground-level as we teach you about the important points of your rifle, optic, and ammunition and how they work together to produce the precise results you’re looking for. From there, you’ll dive deep into the fundamentals of marksmanship, teaching you how to shoot your rifle to both its, and your own capabilities. From there, we’ll jump into the science of long-range shooting, discussing everything you need to know to be successful on your own, and giving you achievable goals and confidence.

Next, we’ll give you an exposure to how to read the largest variable in long range shooting, the wind, and how to make accurate adjustments when you don’t get it right. You’ll wrap up your introduction to long range shooting with a brief dabble into shooting off of your belly, and you’ll know where your strengths and weaknesses are after you complete our basic Modern Day Rifleman evaluation.

As with all of our training classes, we’re about performance, and building training programs that give you goals and proven methods to help you achieve your goals. Our Introduction to Long Range Shooting class and the shooter it produces is the standard that others aspire to in the world of precision shooting.
